This landscape painting was inspired by a scene in my neighborhood. I've walked by it many times while walking my dog. One day I decided to memorize it and then went home and painted it. It is easier to take liberties with a scene when I am not looking right at it. I was able to be more free with this and embelished the idea.
The painting shows a blue beach chair in a backyard on the grass with a large bush and a little dog. In the background is a row of houses on the left and a large pine tree on the right. It is done in a post impressionistic style with flambouyant brush strokes. Earth colors dominate this landscape painting except for the folding chair and the pine tree in the distance. |
