This landscape painting was done from imagination. This landscape painting started as a country scene. Then I developed the land. I start with one idea and that was the yellow house. I like yellow houses because the make me feel optimistic. It was a demonstration I did for a local art group. When I got home I decided to make it more urban and put in the house next door, then the drive way and side walk and house in the background.The dog is very similar to the first dog I owned.
My paintings are going toward a more expressionist direction. The brush strokes a less descriptive of the subject and more about the application of paint. I want to make my landscape paintings more ambiguous and let the viewer add in the missing details. |
