This picture was done on the street in Cedarburg Wisconsin in 2008. The old buildings in the charming city are great for plein air painting. Artists from all parts of the country come to participate in this art event. The day was a sunny day in June and I had a great place to paint. I was under cover which provided shade and shelter from rain. The weather was really crazy. One minute it was sunny and the next it was pouring rain. After a while it was back to sun. All this is part of being a plein air, outside painter. However the situation of being outside and subject to the whims of nature provides a certain anxiety which affects the painting. |
